Coach Mari Mooneyham
Harrison is a native of Frisco and she is a voting member of the
Choctaw Tribal Nation.
She
attended Frisco schools K – 12th grade and went to Frisco High
School where she played on the varsity basketball, power lifting,
golf, and track & field teams. After high school she
attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. While at TCU she
was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, Student Foundation, and
she worked and was a student assistant with the TCU Women’s
Basketball Team.
The team
won a bid to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament for the first
time while she was working with the team. She continues to work
closely with the TCU Women’s Basketball coaching staff and returns
every summer to work their summer camps.
Upon graduation from
TCU she came back home to Frisco to begin her coaching and teaching
career at Clark Middle School. After her first year at
Clark she became the Girls Athletic Coordinator for 3 years before
coming to Liberty.
Shortly
after becoming a Redhawk, Coach Mooneyham married John Harrison and
his 13 year old boxer named Eddie…they were a package
deal. The Harrison’s added a
Great Dane puppy, Tuchena, into the mix during the summer of 2007.
(Tuchena means “3” in Choctaw because her birthday is March 3!)
